East Rice

Located one mile from I-229 and three miles from I-90. The site has 5,000 feet of rail siding and can store approximately 100 railcars (varies dependent upon car lengths). Bulk powder overhead storage capacity includes five separate silos and over 6,000 tons. A Cat Loader IT28 (Integrated Tool Carrier) front end loader also has pallet forks and a spreader bar available. There is a gravel lot lay down area of approximately 3.5 acres (153,000 sq. ft.).

Our East Rice facility is served by the Ellis & Eastern Railroad, which is a short line railway that interchanges with the BNSF. Rail to Road’s partnership with Ellis & Eastern is one of the key components to its success, and it receives daily switching service from them.

Port Neal

This facility has convenient interstate and truck access, located just over 1 mile west of I-29, Exit 135 (south of Sioux City, IA), and then 0.25 mile north. It’s located between the north and south Port Neal MidAmerican power plants.

Currently, this facility hauls fly ash from the power plants, stores the product on site, and then loads the materials onto Headwaters Resources’ customer trucks.

Tea Warehouse

This 12,000 sq. ft. insulated warehouse is located within 1 mile of I-29, has 3 truck dock doors, and 2 indoor tanker truck loading areas with pull-through access and spill containment pits. Currently, this facility is dedicated almost entirely to servicing W.R. Grace and their customers.

Worthington, MN

This location is served by Ellis & Eastern railroad which interchanges with the Union Pacific (UP) in Worthington. Three bulk overhead silos provide 900 tons of storage and are currently utilized by our industry partners Lehigh Hanson and Boral Resources for portland cement & fly ash. These products are transloaded from rail cars into the silos and then gravity loaded onto customer trucks. The terminal has mobile equipment that includes a Trackmobile, which allows spotting & relocating of rail cars, a CAT 938K front end loader and 259D CAT skid loader, both equipped with fork attachment or a bucket for various material handling capabilities. The terminal also has a mobile, gas powered, enclosed tube conveyor that allows for direct transfer of materials from rail car to trucks. A state certified truck scale is on site and there is a gravel laydown area that offers up to 5 acres of laydown storage.

It has exceptional truck access via US-59/60 and I-90 (Exit 45, 5 miles south and .75 mile west).

St. Joseph, MN

It has excellent truck access from Stearns County Road 75, which connects with I-94 to the west and MN HWY 23 to the south. It is served by Northern Lines Railway (NLR), which interchanges with the BNSF in St. Cloud, MN. NLR provides the facility with daily switching services. A combination of a slip-formed concrete silo structure & overhead bulk steel silos provides 2,050 tons of overhead bulk storage capacity. Currently the overhead silos are utilized by our industry partners GCC and Lehigh Hanson, which are both portland cement producers. They are filled via a transloading process & then gravity loaded on customer’s trucks on a state certified scale for final delivery. The site includes a mobile equipment fleet that includes a Trackmobile for spotting & relocating rail cars, a 966K Caterpillar loader that is equipped with a bucket or fork attachment, along with a 40’ spreader bar to allow for numerous unloading capabilities. There is approximately 6 acres of gravel-based laydown yard available for on-site storage.
